Answer: Some of the major problem associated with HVDC circuit breaker mentioned below
1. There is no any natural current zero.
2. Very difficult to prevent restriking of arc.
3. Very hard to dissipate the storage energy.

The disadvantages of HVDC are in conversion, switching, control, availability and maintenance.
The required static inverters are expensive and have limited overload capacity. At smaller transmission distances the losses in the static inverters may be bigger than in an AC transmission line.
