Answer: If you compare the voltage regulation of DC and AC transmission you will find that DC transmissions has better voltage regulation. This is because of absence of inductance in DC system.

As there is no inductance in DC transmission line, there will no inductive reactance and reactive power loss. That is why voltage drop in transmission line will reduced and voltage regulation will improve.

Due to the absence of inductance, the voltage drop in a d.c. transmission line is less than the a.c. line for the same load and sending end voltage. For this reason, a d.c. transmission line has better voltage regulation.
