Voltage [difference] is present at your body’s end only, but
a) it is current that flows through your body and breaks nervous system;
b) it is current that is responsible for the body heat, [the i square r loss].
c) and it is the heat that dry out the blood. Technically speaking, current does the job of killing, which is facilitated by voltage.
But, People do say- high voltage kills. In fact most of the warning sign have voltage ratings, not the current ratings. This is High voltage symbol, internationally adopted and is always addressed by HV ratings.

Actually it is the current passing through our body that kills. But it is the voltage that drives the current. For a particular voltage, resistance of the body decides th amount of current. The resistance is very low when the body is wet. So it is more dangerous when the body is wet.
The parts through which current passes also important. If current passes through heart muscles, then it is more severe.
