Transmission Line helps in the movement of electricity from a power plant or power station to the various substations. transmission of power is done on high voltage i.e. generally above 11 KV.

Whereas the distribution line carries electricity from the substation to the consumer’s end. Distribution is done on voltage less then or equal to 11 KV.

Transmission lines are for large distances, their voltage is higher, and they can transport more electricity.

Distribution lines are for short distances, their voltage is lower, and they transport electricity locally.
